(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Sheboygan man is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Wausau at knifepoint.
Investigators say Terrell Poe forced himself on the woman in late May. The victim reported the incident and underwent a sexual assault examination. Poe was arrested on June 5th, and charges were formally filed ten days later.
He’s now being held on a $25,000 cash bond for sexual assault by use of a dangerous weapon and battery or threats against law enforcement. Arresting officers said the 29-year-old threatened to stab them as he was being taken into custody.
He faces up to 66 years in prison on the counts, with the potential for additional time due to his status as a repeat offender. Poe is due back in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
He has not entered a plea to the charges. Court records show he previously lived in Wausau. Previous convictions against him include a felony count of aggravated battery against an elderly person and a misdemeanor count for criminal damage to property.
