Weinbrenner Shoe Company Expansion on Track

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The $14.5 million expansion for Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Marshfield is on track.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Mayor Lois TeStrake says the first phase is in the books, and the second phase should close by next spring. “The second phase, I believe, will be done by March of next year. The third phase will just be the outside stuff, grass or whatever.”

She says just driving by the project in the Mill Creek Business Park is exciting. “Every time I see more [work] going on, oh my gosh.” The new facility will provide employees with comforts and amenities that the current building doesn’t offer.

That includes air conditioning and an employee parking lot. The plant will also feature a retail store with windows that will provide a glance into the shoe-making process. TeStrake calls that the “coolest feature” that the new building will provide.
