Even though we will be seeing high heat and humidity this weekend, two of Clark County’s beaches will be closed.

Mead Lake and Russell Memorial Park beaches are closed this weekend due to high levels of E. Coli. Samples were collected Monday, June 16th and a resample was done Wednesday, June 18th due to the levels at Mead Lake and Russell Memorial.

Mead Lake and Russell Memorial are now at a closure level and will need to be closed. Resample for Mead Lake and Russell Memorial Park (Lake Arbutus) will be on Monday the 23rd to see if they will need to remain closed.

Water quality can change quickly due to rain, runoff, or wildlife. Always check before you swim. Clark County’s other beaches, Sherwood Lake and Rock Dam, are open for the weekend.
