LOYAL, GRANTON BACK AWAY FROM SPORT MERGER

Granton and Loyal won?t combine all their sports programs next year, afterall.Representatives from both boards met in Granton last night for a quick, 15-minute meeting. Both said feedback from their respective communities wasn?t positive after they decided to take the plunge back in September.
The two boards also had trouble getting together on some crucial points.
Loyal board member Darrell Laschen likened the shotgun arrangement to picking an apple before it was ripe.
Both schools? committees agreed to recommend to rescind the motion to combine sports.
It appears the junior high partnerships will continue, but the Loyal board still must decide whether to continue their football partnership.
