In 2024, Wisconsin tourism generated a historic $25.8 billion economic impact, marking a third consecutive record-breaking year for tourism’s economic impact.
That’s a 3.3% increase over 2023’s $25 billion. Wisconsin welcomed 114.4 million visits, eclipsing the pre-pandemic record formerly set in 2019 by more than a million.
That’s an increase of 1.3% over 2023’s 113 million visits. Wisconsin had 182,000 full and part-time tourism jobs in 2024, which is a 2.2% increase over 2023’s 178,000.
That means 1 in 21 jobs are supported by tourism in the State of Wisconsin. $1.7 billion in state and local taxes were brought in due to tourism, which is a 3.2% increase over 2023’s $1.6 billion. $1.4 billion in federal taxes were brought in due to tourism, which is a 2.5% increase over 2023.
Each household in Wisconsin would have to pay an additional $678 in taxes to maintain the government services generated by tourism spending, which is a 3.2% increase over 2023’s $660.
