(Mike Leischner, WSAU) An 18-year-old from Texas is facing multiple charges after officers say he broke into at least two homes in Marathon City, threatening the occupants of one.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Benjamin Sanchez is accused of barging into one home Tuesday night and threatening to kill the occupants. When the homeowner called for help, the man fled.
Officers chased him down the street, where he entered another home. He was arrested outside that home without further incident. Investigators add that Sanchez blew a .279 on a breath test, more than three times the legal limit for driving.
Charges against him include one felony count for burglary, which could land him in prison for more than 12 years. He also faces five misdemeanor counts for disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing, and resisting an officer.
Sanchez, who resides in Texas, was released after posting a $2,500 cash bond. Further court action is scheduled for July 9th.
