Porky is the Pet of the Week from the Clark County Humane Society made possible by East Valley Veterinarian Clinic located at 2510 Black River Road just North of Neillsville and east of the Black River. (https://
Name: Porky
Age: 6-Months-Old
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier and Blue Heeler
Meet Porky, the CCHS Pet of the Week! Porky came to CCHS when found as a stray. Porky is a mix of Jack Russell Terrier and Blue Heeler, with a short-haired black and white coat.
He is 6 months old and weighs 21.3#. Porky was very happy to come to the Shelter, as he had met up with a porcupine prior to his arrival. His nose and face had lots of quills embedded, so he was very relieved when our vet team was able to quickly remove them and get him feeling better.
He's now doing wonderfully and is a happy and bubbly pup. He's very excited to greet visitors from his kennel, and he knows he's ready to find his new family.
The unusual part of Porky's story is that when he arrived at CCHS, he found two more pups that looked an awfully lot like him, and they had come to CCHS separately as strays the day before.
They had met up with a porcupine too, probably the same one. We're betting they are brothers, as they all have similar personalities. We are just happy they all made it to CCHS, even if it was one at a time!
With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. If you're ready for a great new friend to join your family, please submit your adoption application for Porky (or one of his brothers, Quill and Spike) today!
You can submit your adoption application on our website: www.cchs-petshelter.org/ applying-to-adopt. We have lots and lots of animals at CCHS right now, especially puppies, so be sure to check them all out. You are also welcome to stop in and visit with all of our animals during any of our open hours!
Freeday Friday is back!! On Friday, June 6th, Freeday Friday will be held at our original CC Resale Store. It's located at 600 Hewett St, in downtown Neillsville, on the corner opposite the Post Office.
This is our “inconvenience store”. We have lousy parking, terrible hours, not much is organized and we don’t care if you buy anything or not. And yet, people love it. You know why?........cuz it’s all FREE!
That’s right, bring your bags, boxes, cars, trucks or buggies and fill ‘em up. It’s all free! We call it Freeday Friday and it’s June 6th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. See you then!!
You can learn more about, and adopt, Porky, and all the animals at the shelter, at their website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. You can also apply for adoption in person.
