Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Welcomes New Deputy

Last week, the Marathon County Sheriff's Office had the privilege of welcoming their newest deputy, Jacob Mertzig to the office.

Deputy Mertzig comes to the Department with a background in law enforcement; having worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office and the Neillsville Police Department.

Deputy Mertzig also worked for a short time in the insurance industry. While in his roles at the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Mertzig was a firearms instructor, field training officer, certified evidence technician and was part of their mobile field force team.

Jacob brings with him a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly help him serve the citizens of Marathon County.
