Work Begins Wednesday on Highway 29 Westbound From Clark County Line Through Marathon County

Monday, June 2nd, 2025 -- 12:00 PM

(Brad Hanson, WAOW) Governor Tony Evers has signed a $6.1 million contract to enhance WIS 29 Westbound, spanning from the Clark County Line to County Highway E South.

According to Brad Hanson with WAOW, the project, led by Chippewa Concrete Services, Inc., is set to begin on June 4, 2025. Crews will focus on patching westbound concrete pavement and ramps at WIS 13.

Improvements also include upgrading curb ramps, replacing concrete pavement at the off ramp to Spruce Street/Maple Road, replacing guardrails, refreshing asphalt shoulders, and installing new pavement markings.

During construction, WIS 29 traffic will be shifted to bi-directional flow on the eastbound lanes. Temporary ramp closures will be in place, accompanied by detours.

The project aims for completion by October 17, 2025, contingent on weather conditions and construction progress.
