Clark County Economic Development Corporation & Tourism Bureau Celebrates 35th Anniversary

Clark County Economic Development & Tourism Bureau Board of Directors recently held their Annual Meeting for the Non-Profits 35 th Anniversary.

The board of directors consists of a diverse group representing all walks of life in Clark County. New board members welcomed to the board at this event were: Jake Brunette, Anne Sadowska, and Weston Wuethrich.

The Clark County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) has been the focal point for the county’s economic development and tourism promotion since its inception. Building the economy of Clark County and diversifying our employment base are keys to strengthening our communities.

Actively recruiting employees and growing our employers while ensuring that our existing business base remains vibrant are essential elements in creating jobs and thereby attracting and retaining residents and children in our schools; this is the mission of CCEDC. 2025 will continue to be a busy year.

Here are a few of our recent accomplishments and future goals:

  • Economic Development -CCEDC assists with business planning, financial packaging, potential new start-ups, existing business purchases, business retention and expansion, finishing projects, or planning new ones.
  • Housing Development -major attention to housing growth we so desperately need for retention and new recruitment to grow and retain employees. Plus, mailing and marketing available housing site info.
  • Work with our many partners, i.e.: our technical colleges and universities and Workforce Development to provide training. Help with additional efforts for business park growth in our county/communities through planning and zoning.
  • Meeting with community, county leaders, state/national representatives, businesses, organizations, schools, residents, and others to determine growth and development needs, promote opportunities, and gain support for our united goals. This includes working collaboratively with all our partners: Momentum West, West Central Regional Planning/RBF, USDA-RPN, SBDC, WEDC, CESA, NRTC, and many others.
  • Tourism – partnering and cluster marketing and advertising everything that Clark County has to offer, especially our 24/7/265 Outdoor Lifestyle which is a draw to tourists and existing and new residents alike. In Clark County our outdoor lifestyle is a major part of our Rural Quality of Life. CCEDC & TB logged an average of 170 plus calls/emails per month requesting information and for materials to be emailed/sent or posted on our Facebook page.
  • Transportation – Freight Rail Growth & working with road connection issues that affect growth for communities, business parks, etc.
  • Broadband – Working with connectivity urgency through county and regional approach. Partners help monitor providers opportunities to help fill the gap in unserved and underserved business and residential areas.
  • Workforce- sharing, communication, and networking assistance for all. Unemployment tracking and employer job openings survey ongoing. Marketing Quality of Life and jobs available.

CCEDC & TB organize the following county wide annual events: Spring into Arts Tour, Bloomin Greenhouse Tour, Business to Business Expo & Career Fair, and Harvest Moon Tour.

We also send a Monthly E-Newsletter to our subscribers with information about Economic Development at the county and state level, monthly event calendar, tourism news around the county, and much more.
