At the beginning of each school year, Wyeville students and staff  at Tomah are welcomed into six unique “houses,” each one representing a powerful character trait: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Kindness, Teamwork, and Perseverance.

These aren’t just words; they’re the values that shape who we are and how we care for one another. This year, Mrs. Gilchrist and Ms. Dubois, the inspiring leaders of the House of Perseverance, helped the kids dream up something truly special.

They applied for and were awarded funding from the Rachel's Challenge Kindness Project to bring their vision to life: crafting no-sew blankets to bring warmth and comfort to children in foster care.

Together, the students of the House of Perseverance poured their hearts into each blanket, carefully crafting them with love and a desire to make a difference.

Their efforts paid off earlier this month when Danielle Calhoun, the founder of the Caring Closet, visited Wyeville School to receive the beautifully made blankets, along with handmade cards for the recipients. It was a moment filled with pride and a shared understanding that small acts of kindness can truly change lives.

A huge shoutout to the amazing House of Perseverance members: Wyatt Meacham, Pennelope Kaspari, Catey Weaver, Marley Basterash, Mysti Meacham, Paislee Holloway, Atraedeis Littlejohn, Kaelib Richmond, Ariell Elmore, Greysen Baumgarten, Desirae Gerke, Bailey Sparks, and Skarlette Nunez, along with their leaders, Mrs. Gilchrist and Ms. Dubois.
