Hixton Firefighters Receive 1st at "Walk But We Are Gonna Run 1 Mile Challenge"

Hixton fire dog Murphy, Firefighter Grant Anderson, Lieutenant Zac Durst, Assistant Chief Andrew Krueger and Chief Tom Davidson participated in the “Walk But We Are Gonna Run 1 Mile Challenge.

The Hixton Hotshots took 1st place with a time of 13 minutes and 28 seconds. The Firefighters Challenge had teams of firefighters participating with other runners/walkers.

Each team had 3 or more firefighters from the same department. Each team, regardless of size, pays a $100 registration fee. Firefighter teams must wear turnout gear. Coat and pants are required; helmet and air tank are optional.

Team members MUST finish together. Good walking/running shoes are highly recommended. Medals were given to each firefighter that is identified before April 25th and participates in the 1 mile race.

Optionally, you can have a pledge sheet for your department to raise additional funds for GRACE.
