The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado did touchdown in both Colby and Loyal. Law enforcement also confirmed the tornadoes. An Xcel Energy Outage Map stated around 500 customers in the Colby, Unity, and Spencer area lost power.
Several homes in the Colby area sustained damage. The Colby Chrysler dealership, along with the vehicles, did sustain damage from flying debris and the storms.
There were other reports of downed branches, damaged sheds, and other damage due to Thursday’s storms. We’ll have more as new information comes in.
Be advised Clark County Emergency Management has activated the 211 system for any storm damage related information for all of Clark County. If people have storm related damage to their property we are asking that they call 211 to report this information.
