The City of Black River Falls is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Davidson as the new Fire Chief for the Black River Falls Fire Department, effective June 9, 2025.

Davidson brings over 20 years of fire service experience to the position. He previously served with Black River Falls Fire & EMS from 2007 to 2012 and has been the Fire Chief for Hixton Fire & Rescue since 2015.

In addition to his fire department leadership role, Davidson also serves as President of the Jackson County Fire Association and Vice-President of the Jackson County Division 139 Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS).

The City’s Hiring Committee received five applications for the Fire Chief position. After a thorough interview process, the committee selected Davidson from two finalists.

“We are excited to welcome Tom Davidson back to the Black River Falls Fire Department,” said City Administrator Brad Chown. “His extensive experience, proven leadership, and roots in our local fire service community make him the right choice to lead the department into the future.”

Davidson’s leadership is expected to enhance the department’s collaboration, training, and emergency response readiness.
