JROTC completed its first Service-Learning Project titled "Operation 'Bago".

The focus of Operation 'Bago was on enhancing Winnebago Park, conveniently located near THS, through the dedicated efforts of the Timberwolves Battalion Cadets.

This initiative was proudly carried out in partnership with Tomah Parks & Recreation. Service-Learning Projects are a structured initiative that combines community service with academic learning to help cadets develop leadership, teamwork, and civic responsibility.

Key Aspects of a JROTC Service-Learning Project:

  • Community Engagement: Cadets identify local needs and work on projects that positively impact their surroundings.
  • Leadership Development: Through planning and execution, cadets enhance their leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Academic Integration: Projects align with educational objectives, helping cadets apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Cadets work together to achieve common goals, fostering a sense of unity and responsibility.

"Despite the weather, the Cadets did a great job executing Operation 'Bago. Special thanks to Mr. Joe Protz from Tomah Parks & Recreation who provided time and resources, COL (R) John Gessner, SSG Sparby, SFC Dugger, and CPT Rivera.  Big Thank you to all, especially the Cadets," said JROTC Instructor Troy Fox.
