Wisconsin DNR Reminds You To Be Safe With The Increased Fire Danger
Saturday, May 10th, 2025 -- 7:36 AM
The Wisconsin department of natural resources is reminding people to be safe when enjoying outdoor activities this weekend with the increased fire danger.
As of Friday afternoon, the Wisconsin DNR’s fire danger level map shows Eau Claire, Chippewa, Clark and Jackson counties are all in the 'high' category. Every county north of Chippewa county is in the very high risk.
This elevated fire danger will continue until there is significant rainfall, and the DNR is continuing to suspend burn permits in 30 counties where it has burn restriction authority.
The DNR asks the public to check fire conditions before conducting outdoor burning activities. If you are in an area of High or Very High fire danger, stay vigilant and avoid outdoor burning.
