Abbotsford Middle School Mathletes Compete in Edgar

Congratulations to Abbotsford Middle School Mathletes.

They’re proud to recognize the outstanding performance of the Abby Middle School Mathletes who competed at Edgar on Friday, May 2nd. Facing off against some of the region’s brightest math students from area middle schools, our teams showcased exceptional math skills and great teamwork.

  • Team Abby Red — composed of Hoang (Alex) Viet Do, Emmett Ruppel, Arian Ceniceros Herrada, and Annabelle Anger — earned 1st place out of 23 teams!
  • Team Abby Black, made up of Jayden Le, Hayden Wagner, Steven Malave Ortiz, and Cristhian Santiago, placed 14th out of 23 teams, a strong showing in a competitive field.

Individually, Hoang (Alex) Viet Do and Emmett Ruppel tied for 2nd place out of 92 students, while Arian Ceniceros Herrada secured 3rd place. Annabelle Anger and Hayden Wagner also ranked in the top 20.

Students competed without calculators in categories such as Algebra, Fractions, Decimals and Percents, Individual Problem Solving, and Geometry. In addition to the individual rounds, they worked collaboratively in the Team Problem Solving event and participated in a STEM activity alongside students from other schools.
