HUNTER IN SERIOUS CONDITION AFTER FALL

Monday, October 20th, 2008 -- 10:35 AM

An area hunter is listed in serious condition after falling 18-feet from a tree stand yesterday.

Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer says they were called out at 6:52 p.m. Sunday evening.

15-year-old Alex Pagenkopf fell from his stand, which was in a wooded area on Schofield Rd. in the Town of Weston, which is north of Neillsville.

The crew used their ATV and "boggin" to bring Pagenkopf out of the woods and set up a landing area for the Spirit of Marshfield helicopter, which transported him to St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.

The crew spent about 40 minutes on the scene.
