First Upper Midwest Severe Weather Outbreak Expected Monday

The areas first major severe storm outbreak of the spring could happen on Monday.
With anticipated temperatures in the low 70's and dew points reaching into the low 60's, the afternoon on Monday will have a summer-like feel. As of Sunday morning, The Storm Prediction Center has placed Western and Central Wisconsin, Southeastern Minnesota and most of eastern and central Iowa in a level 4, moderate risk, of severe weather for Monday. Large hail, damaging winds and strong tornados are all possible. Storm chances are greatest in the Monday evening time frame between 7 pm and midnight but an early morning storm can't be ruled out.
There are a few things you can do to prepare. First, continue to monitor the local forecast for updates. Consider making alternative plans for Monday's outdoor activities. Finally, review your severe weather safety plans and make sure to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings.
