POLL: KIND OPENS BIG LEAD

A new poll finds the incumbent U.S. representative from southwestern Wisconsin has a comfortable lead over his challengers.The poll found Democratic U.S. Rep. Ron Kind was supported by 63 percent of respondents, while Republican challenger Paul Stark was supported by nearly 21 percent.
Libertarian Kevin Barrett was supported by 3 percent. Undecided voters made up nearly 14 percent of those polled.
The poll was sponsored by the La Crosse Tribune, Wisconsin Public Radio and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The results were published Sunday.
UW-Lacrosse Political Science and Public Administration faculty members conducted the telephone survey of 621 residents of La Crosse, Vernon and Crawford counties last week.
The margin of error in the House race is plus or minus 4 percentage points.
