Nursing Student Helps Colby Kindergarten Students Learn About Germs
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 -- 9:00 AM

The Colby Kindergarten class had the pleasure of welcoming Jessica Gaupp along with the school nurse, Kelly Meyer to demonstrate the importance of hand washing.
Jessica is working towards her Bachelors Degree in Nursing and did this demonstration to go towards one of her community health class projects. Kelly and Jessica put "fake germs" on the kids hands and shined a black light on them.
This showed how germs get transferred to other surfaces and how they can be all over. Then the students washed their hands and looked with a black light again to see the spots they missed.
This taught them better hand washing techniques.
