Tomah Principal Shares Update on JROTC Program

Principal Joyce at the Tomah high school who shared an update on our new JROTC program.

The THS JROTC program is making great strides in fostering leadership and community involvement among students. The formation of the Timberwolves Battalion and the upcoming leadership opportunities for Cadets are significant milestones.

It's wonderful to see programs like this focus on developing better citizens and future leaders. THS JROTC program met an exciting milestone recently, receiving and issuing Cadet uniforms, which should certainly help build a sense of unity and pride among the Cadets.

Going forward, they are establishing cooperation with Fort McCoy’s 181 Multi-Functional Training Brigade and their Partnership in Education program. This is a fantastic initiative that will provide valuable learning experiences with local military units.

Furthermore, they are linking in with Tomah’s VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement to create intergenerational volunteer opportunities, which is a wonderful way to foster community connections and mutual support.

Additionally, they are working with Tomah Parks and Recreation on Service-Learning projects that will not only strengthen the community but also give Cadets hands-on experience in civic engagement.

It's truly inspiring to see the Cadets’ dedication and vision behind the THS JROTC program. Focusing on building strong citizens, promoting positive behaviors, and enhancing teamwork and leadership skills will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the Cadets and the community.

The emphasis on collaboration, leadership, and civic engagement is crucial for developing well-rounded Cadets who can contribute positively to society.

It's clear that the Timberwolves Battalion is not only off to a fast start but is also set on a path of continuous growth and improvement.
