Garrison Commander at Fort McCoy Suspended

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) The Garrison Commander at Fort McCoy is suspended, according to a statement from a Fort McCoy Senior Commander, according to WEAU staff.

Col. Sheyla Baez Ramirez is now suspended. The statement goes on to say the suspension is not related to any misconduct. Chris Hanson, a public affairs staffer, told WEAU that the suspension was announced late Friday night.

Hanson said someone will step into the role of Garrison Commander, but there has not been an announcement of who that will be. Hanson said this announcement comes as Fort McCoy is approaching a busy training season ahead.

He said this announcement will not impact any training and work done on base.
