(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man accused of providing the drugs that led to the death of another person entered a plea to the charges against him.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Matthew Gesicki entered the plea Friday. He was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 1st-degree reckless homicide - deliver drugs, 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent - amphetamine/methamphetamine, and possession with intent - fentanyl.
A sentencing date hasn’t been set at this time. Investigators say Gesicki had 50 grams of meth and ten grams of fentanyl in his possession when he was arrested last May.
The street value of the drugs is estimated at around $157,000. Additionally, officers say he provided the drugs to a Wausau-area woman who overdosed on them and died.
According to the woman’s boyfriend, Gesicki told him to be careful with the dosage because he had “been putting fentanyl in everything.”
