Marshfield Residents Invited to Participate in No Mow May

Monday, April 21st, 2025 -- 9:00 AM

Marshfield residents can participate in No Mow May by filling out a form found on the City’s website.

No Mow May was first popularized by Plantlife, an organization based in the United Kingdom, but it is now gaining traction across North America. The goal of No Mow May is to pause mowing during May, allowing flowers to bloom in your lawn to help early-season pollinators.

Late winter and early spring are times when floral resources are often limited. Though no organization officially oversees No Mow May, many Bee City USA and Bee Campus USA affiliates choose to participate.

And while not mowing in May isn't right for everyone in every region, the campaign can be a good tool for getting new people involved in pollinator conservation.

By signing up for this program, residents do not have to worry about getting a fine for tall grass in May. If you have questions, please call the Street Division at 715-486-2081.
