Physics Meets the Fast Lane at CVTC 'Race Day'.
Neillsville’s Mr. Brommer caught wind of an upcoming CVTC 'Race Day' STEM event and jumped at the chance to sign up his physics class. He then reached out to our resident race car driver, Mr. Bernhagen, who brought in his racing simulator as a prep activity.
Over the coming days, Mr. Brommer's class will be adjusting air pressures, changing springs, altering weather conditions, and more to see how these variables affect the handling of various race cars.
The iRacing simulator features real-world tracks and cars to create an incredibly immersive experience. Mr. Bernhagen even gave students a tour of one of his home tracks, the fastest quarter-mile oval in the world, Slinger Super Speedway.
The students had a blast experimenting and learning with the simulator. Mr. Brommer enjoyed diving into concepts like friction, downforce, and drag, while Mr. Bernhagen had fun, well, driving, of course.
