Thorp Students Compete in CDE Contests

On March 18. 2025 and April 5th, 2025, 52 Thorp students competed in CDE contests.
A CDE is a career development event where kids can judge, evaluate, and pick the right answer for many different topics. This year they had 13 teams compete.
- Livestock- Landon Penk, Kallie Penk, Emma Mohr and Evan Penterman. They placed 15th as a team.
- Forestry- Emma Leech, Erika Kaiser, Aiden Hempleman (not pictured), Ashlyn Abramczak. They competed in Forestry and placed 5th and are going to state!
- Middle School- Kalli Kroeplin, Avery Koepl, Adalynn Foster, Greta Ciolkosz, Carly Petranovich, Elise Ciolkosz, Front row; Izaak Penterman and Hayden Penk. These are the 2 teams of Middle School Agris-Science. Adalynn Foster took 1st overall and 1 team is moving onto state.
- Ag Mech- Tyler Hughes, Blake Ciolkosz, and Hunter Kodl. They competed in Ag Mech and will be advancing onto state winning 1st place overall as a team, with all of them in the top 15 as individuals.
- Floriculture- Anna Ciolkosz, Lily Schraufnagel, Samantha Burish and Azaria Stutton. They competed in Floriculture and placed 2nd while advancing to state. Anna also placed 1st place overall.
- Milk Quality- Jaden Ciolkosz, Oliver Henderson, Caleb Ciolkosz, and Kinleigh Mannel. They competed in Milk quality and placed 11th overall.
- Poultry- Claire Petranovich, Ava Boehlke, and Tenley Haas. They received 7th place in Poultry and advanced to state. Tenley Haas placed 7th overall.
- Horse- Ashlee Schesel, Izzy Nowobielski, Lillyann Hallin, Ruby Hein. They competed in Horse judging and placed 16th overall, and Lillyann placed 4th as an individual.
- Wildlife- Dylan Reineke, Wyatt Mulvaney, Parker Anderson, and Trevor Kodl competed in the Wildlife competition and placed 16th as a team, with Wyatt Mulvaney placing 6th as an individual.
- Dairy Cattle Evaluation- Ella Ewings, Brevyn Hanson, Mitchell Tieman, and Mason Rudnick competed in the Dairy Cattle Evaluation competition and got 9th overall as a team.
