The Tomah School District is incredibly proud to recognize high school senior Owen Fox for being named a 2025 Shining Star Finalist for TUMMA’s Student of the Year Award.

Owen was honored at the TUMMA (The Upper Mississippi Manufacturing Alliance) Awards Dinner, where his hard work, dedication, and passion for manufacturing and innovation were celebrated.

This prestigious recognition highlights students who show exceptional promise in becoming future leaders in the manufacturing industry. TUMMA’s mission is to build a strong manufacturing workforce of the future by uniting manufacturers, educators, and students and Owen is a shining example of that vision in action.

When asked why do you consider the nominee to be a SHINING STAR? Owen's Tech Ed Teacher Mr. Olson had this to say: "Owen projects leadership in/out of the technology classroom."

His devotion to vocational metals is extremely strong; he enjoys learning and applying new vocational metal techniques. Owen understands the value of “Team” by working, communicating, and inspiring his peers to build this year’s class projects. He possesses a great deal of personal discipline and exudes confidence that resonates amongst his peers in a positive manner."

Owen is a three sport Varsity letter (Soccer, Bowling, and Tennis) athlete. He was recently awarded from Mississippi Valley Conference “All-Academic Team” and “All Conference Sportsmanship Team”.

Owen is currently enrolled in Computer Integrated Metals, Machine Shop, and Vocational Metal Working. All these classes will put him in a position to become a great fabricator.

These are the Quality Traits that are sought after in the manufacturing world."
