FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPOND TO BARN FIRE

The Neillsville Fire Department assisted the Granton Fire Department in putting out a massive barn fire yesterday afternoon.Neillsville was called to the scene at around 2 p.m. The barn was located on Halle Avenue, just north of CTH C in the Town of York.
Neillsville alone hauled in 30,000 gallons of water to fight the fire, which was fully engulfed by the time crews got there.
Roger Nitschke the Granton Fire Department says several heifers were lost in the fire.
The cause is not known at this time.
