No direct-care patient jobs are being impacted. In a statement sent to WSAW, Sanford Health says they remain committed to investing $500-million in the Marshfield Clinic region over the next five years.
At the same time, its organizations have been looking at ways to set itself up for the future as they continue with the integration process. The merger between Sanford Health and Marshfield Clinic was completed at the start of the year.
Ninety-six employees in total with the company will be either laid off or repositioned within Sanford Health. It’s unclear how many people that affected within the Marshfield region.
They are shared services and health plan employees representing not only Marshfield Clinic and Security Health Plan, but Sanford Health and Sanford Health Plan.
Employees below director-level have been given a 60-day notice. Their last day will be June 10. Employees with director and higher roles have been laid off immediately. It’s unclear how the 96 employees are divided up between the two categories.
Marshfield Clinic says they’re providing support for impacted employees. Eligible people are being encouraged to explore other jobs within Sanford Health. They’re said to be adding 20 new positions for the health plan.
Sanford Health adds, “At the end of every decision we make there is a patient. As we continue our journey together, we look forward to expanding care for the communities we serve, now and in the future.”
