Beware of Unpaid Road Tolls Phishing Scam

(Wisconsin Radio Network) Don’t get taken in by a phishing scam claiming you have unpaid road tolls.

According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, Wisconsin’s Division of Motor Vehicles warns scammers are sending texts claiming to be the Department of Transportation. The texts say recipients owe unpaid tolls, but Wisconsin doesn’t have toll roads.

Links in the texts may ask for personal information. Never share personal information in unsolicited messages and be suspicious when asked for payment. DMV also suggests you consider filing a police report if you receive the texts.
