Marshfield Fire and Rescue Thanks the Community for their Support of the Public Safety Referendum

The Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department is pleased to announce that the community has voted in favor of the referendum to restore firefighter/paramedic staffing to 2021 levels.

Fire Chief Everett Mueller provided the following statement: “This decision will allow the department to hire two additional firefighter/paramedics, ensuring that all three shifts will have 12 personnel starting in January 2026."

"We are incredibly humbled by the community’s support and trust in our department. This decision ensures that we can continue providing the high-quality emergency response and medical care that Marshfield residents rely on."

"We do not take this responsibility lightly, and we are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen our team to better serve the city. With the passage of this referendum, the department will begin preparing for the hiring process, ensuring a smooth transition as the new personnel join the team in early 2026."
