New Trial Ordered for Man Found Guilty of Killing Cassandra Ayon

(Heather Poltrock, WSAW) A new trial will be ordered for Jesus Contreras Perez, 45.
According to Heather Poltrock with WSAW, in June 2022, he was convicted by a jury of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and stalking in the death of his child’s mother, Cassandra Ayon. Ayon was reported missing in October 2020.
Her remains were not discovered until December 2024. The exact reason for the new trial isn’t clear. Online court records show the case was reopened. Contreras Perez is currently in the Clark County Jail.
