Wood County Sheriff’s Department Moves Inmates Into New Jail Facility

Saturday, March 22nd, the Wood County Sheriff's Department moved all the inmates housed in the old jail into the new facility.

The process took several hours, and Wood County Sheriff Shawn Becker would like to thank all of the staff who worked hard to make this happen. As a result of careful planning, the move took place without any incidents.

Their next step will be to move all inmates back that are being housed out of county. The next phase of the project will be demolishing the old jail along with developing parking around the Courthouse.
