The Neillsville School Board Hears Presentations, Approves Donations, and More

The Neillsville School Board began their meeting on Monday with a couple presentations.

An FCCLA student presentation was given to the Board. Also, a building project update was presented by Lance Gregorich from CESA 10 and Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer.

The Board also approved the Early College Credit and Start College Now program applications and the donation of coupons from Pizza Hut for the Middle School High Honors Program.

In employment matters, the Board approved the retirement, as presented, of Larry Anason from his maintenance position, Jill Neville from her teaching position, and Monika Luebke from her teaching position.

The Board also approved, as presented, the resignation of Alex Bloch from his weight room supervisor position and the letter of resignation from Kate Hare from her middle school softball coaching position.

The Board also approved, as presented, the hiring of Eric Moltzen for the teaching assistant position, Casandra Craig for the middle school softball coaching position, and Todd Fischer for the middle school track coaching position.

The Board also approved, as presented, the amended letter of appointment for Angela McIntyre. They also approved, as presented, the Memorandum of Understanding for Angela McIntyre and the Memorandum of Understanding for Monika Luebke.

The Board also approved, as presented, the Administrator Contract for Corey Peterson. Finally, the Board approved, as presented, the initial adoption of a long list of policies.

The Board heard the Administrators’ Reports. High School Principal Jennifer Aspenson reported on:

  • Enrollment;
  • Band students qualified for state competition;
  • ACT testing;
  • Sophomore and freshmen career exploration day;
  • Academic Letter Ceremony;
  • Cloverbelt Scholar Ceremony;
  • And student activities.

Middle School Principal Jesse Bernhagen reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • Inclusion Week;
  • STEM Expo event;
  • Reality Store field trip;
  • Band concert;
  • Forward exam;
  • End of third quarter;
  • Course registration;
  • And the start of golf and track seasons.

Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • 4K registration;
  • Summer school registration;
  • March Mammal Madness;
  • Read Across America;
  • Inclusion Week;
  • Family Fun Night;
  • Playground fundraising;
  • And Forward exam.

Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on:

  • A thank you card;
  • The Joint Federal Notifications District Summary Report and IDEA 2024 LEA Determinations from the DPI;
  • Pandemic-related reading and math achievement graphs;
  • An article on pandemic-related lessons;
  • And the impact of federal funding on education.
