A duo accused of conducting a rash of break-ins in the Hatfield and Neillsville areas were back in court Thursday morning.According to the criminal complaint, 35-year-old Mark Hiserman and 20-year-old Nathaniel Luther are charged with stealing a refrigerator, flat screen TVs, lap tops, video game systems, a stove, power tools, clothing, furniture, cash and more from several homes in the area.
Nearly one dozen firearms, including shotguns, rifles and handguns, were taken. All tolled, officials estimate tens-of-thousands of dollars of property was taken in the break-ins.
The value of the stolen merchandise is over $15,000 and still climbing.
The thefts allegedly began in May and continued through last month.
Noting the ?brazenness" of the alleged crimes, Judge Jon Counsell denied Luther?s request to reduce the cash bail from $10,000 to $2,000.
Hiserman remains held on a $60,000 cash bond.
Both Luther and Hiserman waived the time limits for their preliminary hearings.
