Wood County Parks and Forestry Votes on Name of CERA Park

Wood County Parks and Forestry received over 500 responses to their Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Plan public survey.

After reviewing the survey results regarding future naming of CERA Park, the Highway, Infrastructure & Recreation Committee voted to name the park Wood County Cera Park. Keeping Cera Park within the name allows Wood County to honor all the former mill workers in Central Wisconsin who volunteered their time planning, developing, and maintaining the park, since the early 1970’s.

It also allows Wood County to show its appreciation to the current CERA Park Board of Directors for their generous donation to the residents of Wood County; a donation which includes multiple park buildings, amenities, and maintenance equipment.
