Wisconsin Rapids Man Sentenced for Incident at Elementary School

A Wisconsin Rapids man involved in an incident at the Washington Elementary School in Wisconsin Rapids was sentenced in Wood County Court.

On November 12th of 2024, the Department responded to the school to investigate a threatening phone call received by school staff from an anonymous individual.

Members of the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department worked diligently to determine the source of the threat and a location the threat may have been made from.

Due to the nature of the threat, the Department had an increased presence at Washington Elementary that afternoon. Throughout the investigation, detectives with the Department were able to identify and locate the phone used to make the threat as well as the suspect.

As a result of the investigation, Grecia Aguirre, a Wisconsin Rapids resident, was taken into custody and booked into the Wood County Jail. Aguirre was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, amended charges of disorderly conduct, two counts, and unlawful phone use - threatens harm.

He was sentenced to two years of probation with an imposed and stayed jail time of 60 days, meaning if he fails at any conditions of his probation he will have to serve that jail time.
