Thorp Students Compete at District Solo & Ensemble Festival

Band and Choir students from Thorp Middle & High School performed at the District WSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Owen-Withee High School served as this year’s host for the festival. Seven school districts brought their young musicians to perform at the festival: Colby, Gilman, Greenwood, Loyal, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, and Thorp.
This year Thorp music students in 6th-12th grades performed in over 80 events! Thorp also had several Class A events that earned a *1st, earning a trip to the State Solo & Ensemble Festival. Thorp has 12 students going to State performing in 13 events.
The following students will earned a starred 1st and will be performing at State Solo & Ensemble at UW-Eau Claire on May 3:

- Allison Schultze-Jazz Strings Improvisation Solo,
- Jaedyn Stratton-Alto Solo, Musical Theater Solo, Saxophone Solo, Misc. Woodwind Trio,
- Lucas Walteraitis-Misc. Woodwind Trio.
