Vehicle vs. Train Crash Occurs Outside of Augusta Saturday Evening

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) Multiple first responders responded to a vehicle crash involving a train outside of Augusta Saturday evening.
According to WEAU staff, it happened on the 22600 block of Kruger Road in the Town of Bridge Creek, according to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office.
The Fairchild Police Department was sent to help out due to the nature of the crash. A single occupant of the vehicle that was struck was found by crews with no injuries.
The train crew was also found to have had no injuries. The vehicle was found to have failed to yield for the oncoming train as it crossed the tracks. The trailer the vehicle had towed at the time was struck and badly damaged.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing with both the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office and the Union Pacific Railroad handling the investigation. No further details will be released at this time, according to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office.
