Neillsville School Board Hears Buildings and Grounds Update and More at February Meeting

The Neillsville School Board began their meeting on Monday with a building project update from Building and Grounds Director Mark Spencer.
The Board approved the bid from Rhom Construction for an amount not to exceed $1,138,321 for the high school front entrance renovation as presented.
They also approved the bid from Complete Control for an amount not to exceed $94,749 for the high school front entrance renovation as presented. And they approved the bid from Van Ert for an amount not to exceed $132,840 for the high school front entrance renovation as presented.
The Board approved the modified 2024-2025 school year calendar as presented and approved the 2025-2026 school year calendar as presented. The Board approved the 2025-2026 Expanded Course Offerings Handbook as presented.
The Board also approved the 2025 RVA Handbooks and Course Offerings as presented and approved the CESA 10 contract for 2025-2026 as presented.
The Board also approved the 2026 Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce membership renewal as presented. For donations, the Board approved the Spirit Card Program monetary donation from Unity Bank as presented, the monetary donation from the Class of 1999 as presented, and coupons from Kwik Trip as presented.
In employment matters, the Board approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Jan Shilts, the Memorandum of Understanding from Kate Hare, the Memorandum of Understanding from Josh Zahl, the modified 2024-2025 contract for Kendra Friemoth, and the initial adoption of Policy Section 4000.
The Board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on:

High School Principal Jennifer Aspenson reported on:
- Enrollment;

- The FCCLA State Star Competition;
- Winter sports;
- And choir solo and ensemble.
District Administrator John Gaier reported on:
- Thank you cards;
- A letter of support for the USDA grant application;
- Vaccination comparison graphs;
- The CWETN district administrator meeting;
- An article about recent school shootings;
- An AEF press release;
- And the date for the annual Medford legislative meeting.
