A Neillsville man has been sentenced for a string of burglaries and thefts in Jackson County.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in April of last year, the Department received a report of a stolen trailer, which contained an ATV and thousands of dollars of property, from a residence in the Town of Adams. In the following weeks, a string of other vehicle trailer thefts was reported in the Merrillan/Alma Center area.
During the investigation, authorities identified Edward Decorah of Neillsville as a suspect. Decorah was eventually located and arrested at a residence in Jackson County that also contained stolen property from surrounding counties.
During his court appearance on Monday, Decorah was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, two counts of theft of moveable property, receiving stolen property, attempted theft of moveable property, bail jumping, and theft - false representation.
He was sentenced to four years in prison and three years of extended supervision.
