Wisconsin Companies Among Forbes' 100 Best Employers in the Country

Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 -- 9:00 AM

(Claire Reid, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) Four Wisconsin companies are among Forbes' 100 best employers in the country for 2025.

Every year, the business magazine and news site compiles its lists of America's Best Large Employers and America's Best Midsize Employers. Forbes defines large employers as companies with more than 5,000 employees and midsize ones as companies with 1,000 to 5,000 employees.

Madison-based Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation ranked 61st on Forbes' large employers list. The employee-owned company was founded in 1996 and employs over 10,500 people across more than 700 locations.

Mega-popular, La Crosse-based gas station Kwik Trip came in 76th among large employers. Over 36,000 people work at its over 800 locations throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the Midwest.

In the midsize category, Oshkosh-based office supplies and swag supplier 4imprint ranked 36th on Forbes' list. Founded in 1994, 4imprint employs about 1,593 people.

Green Bay Packaging finished 69th among midsize employers. The Green Bay-based packaging manufacturer was founded in 1933 and employs about 4,500 people.

To determine its rankings, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to anonymously survey over 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies that employ more than 1,000 people.

Survey respondents were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a range of criteria, including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance.

Participants were also asked about their recent former employers. Forbes also factored in survey data from the past three years. Forbes' list of large employers has 701 companies, and the midsize list has 498. Here are the other Wisconsin employers that made the lists in 2025:
