RAPIDS COUPLE CHARGED WITH CHILD ABUSE

A Wisconsin Rapids couple is charged with child abuse after authorities found their 2-month old daughter had 22 fractures.30-year-old Nancy Hetze-Werner is charged with failing to prevent bodily harm to a child. Her husband, 24-year-old Joshua Werner, is charged with two counts of physical abuse of a child and one count of first-degree reckless injury.
According to the criminal complaint, Hetze-Werner was asked by officials how her baby's leg had been injured, while the baby was at Riverview Hospital on Aug. 18. Hetze-Werner initially blamed it on their dog.
According to the criminal complaint, Werner became frustrated when the baby wouldn't stop crying. He grabbed her leg and pushed it to the side, breaking it.
Medical records revealed there were other injuries, some which had been healing for weeks.
