The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a garage fire Thursday night.

According to a report from the Department, they received a call of a garage fire around 11:30pm at 300 Park Street in the City of Neillsville. It was an unattached garage and was fully engulfed when the Department arrived.

The houses on each side of the garage did have some melted vinyl siding, but they had no structural damage from fire, smoke, or water. The Department was on scene for around 2.5 hours, there were no injuries on their part or to any residents, and no vehicles were damaged in the fire.

Law enforcement interviewed the residence and occupants, and after further investigation, police interviewed Christian A. Doss. During the interview, Doss admitted to setting fire to an object inside the garage that had been left unattended.

As a result of the investigation, Doss was arrested at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Friday.  He was subsequently booked into the Clark County Jail on charges including Second Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Abuse Enhancer, Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
