Marshfield Common Council Approves a Petition for State/Federal Aid for the Marshfield Municipal Airport

The Marshfield Common Council approved a petition for state/federal aid for the Marshfield Municipal Airport.
The Council began their meeting with a public hearing regarding that topic. The airport manager was the only who spoke during the hearing and in support of the petition.
The Council then approved petitioning the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) for state/federal aid for improvements at Marshfield Municipal Airport.
The Council also approved a request to authorize to execute a task order with Strand Associates, Inc., for services related to preparation/submission of a stormwater planning grant application and had the second reading of an ordinance regarding construction site erosion control.
The Council also approved a budget resolution increasing Wastewater capital expenditures for the Northeast Pump Station rehabilitation project and a budget resolution increasing the Fund 205, economic development, budget for 2025 for consulting services related to the West Second Street Redevelopment Plan.
The Council also approved a budget resolution transferring $6,000 from General Fund contingency to the Fire Department budget to cover certain expenses related to an informational campaign for the April 1st referendum for public safety staffing.
The Council also approved J. Jeffers as the developer to work with the City on redevelopment of the current Weinbrenner facility located at 305 West Third Street.
In approving the minutes from the various committee meetings the past couple weeks, the Council also approved engineering services contract for design of South Vine Avenue, the request to approve lateral lining on South Maple Avenue, approved the final special assessments for 2024 East 14th Street reconstruction, approved the final special assessments for 2024 Asphalt Paving projects, and approved the final special assessments for 2024 Sanitary Sewer projects.
The Council also had a presentation regarding the review of the City’s stormwater management needs, and the possibility of applying for a stormwater planning grant for funding to perform a stormwater feasibility study.
During the City Administrator’s comments, he addressed questions regarding grants and the new presidential administration. During the Council comments, one alderman mentioned a utility item and another alderman commended another on their efforts regarding lead pipes in the City.
