Colby-Abbotsford Police Department Welcomes Therapy Dog
Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 -- 10:00 AM

The newest member of the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department arrived last weekend.
They would like to introduce you to their therapy dog, 10 week old Australian Labradoodle named Maple Latte. Maple Latte will begin her training in April and will be completely certified by the start of the 2025 school year.
She will be in good hands with the School Resource Officer Patrick Leichtnam. Maple Latte came to the Department as a generous donation from Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles.
Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles donates dogs to public safety departments for use as therapy dogs. Their therapy dog will be trained to provide emotional support in a variety of situations and settings, such as school support, officer support and sensitive interviews.
They are excited to have Maple Latte join the Department. They look forward to the many benefits she will provide to the police department and the community.
They would like to thank everyone who provided generous donations and support to make the therapy dog a reality. If you see Officer Leichtnam and Maple Latte, be sure to say hi.
