Marathon County Woman Appears in Marathon County Court for Road Rage Incident

Friday, February 7th, 2025 -- 2:00 PM

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Marathon County woman accused of beating another woman in a road rage incident entered a plea in Marathon County Court on Thursday.

According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Terra LaFave is said to have choked a woman near the intersection of Clubhouse and Ringle Roads this summer. The victim said she had just passed a vehicle traveling under the speed limit.

The driver of that vehicle then began to flash their headlights and turn signals at her. When she stopped at the next intersection to see if something was wrong the driver of that vehicle, identified as LaFave, got out and confronted her.

The victim was beaten and choked to the point where she couldn’t breathe. Another driver stopped and told the attacker he had a gun in an attempt to stop the incident.

LaFave is facing charges of strangulation, battery, disorderly conduct, and substantial battery. During her court appearance on Thursday, she entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her.

She’s scheduled for a motion hearing on May 2nd and a jury trial on July 9th and 10th.
