FUTURE OF GRANTON POOL QUESTIONED
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 -- 12:07 PM
The Granton School board wants to know what the public think about their swimming pool. They were updated Monday night on costs associated with operating the pool. Superintendent Rick Rehm also told them the 30-year-old facility might be in-line for some costly repairs.
It costs the district around $50,000 to operate the pool every year. Another $50,000 may be needed for new paint, repair and equipment replacement.
The board plans a community meeting on the future of the pool and the general direction of the district on September 23 at 8 p.m.
A CESA report last year found Granton Area Schools had the highest electric usage per square-foot in their district.
