It?s a case of ?he said, she said? as a state lawmaker?s ex-girlfriend will stand trial on charges she forged checks from his bank account. At a preliminary hearing Monday, Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) testified he did not give Lisa Brabazon permission to use his money.
?That is clearly not my signature, I have a very distinct signature and I would recognize my own signature and this is clearly not mine,? Suder testified while looking at one of the allegedly forged checks.
Brabazon investigators Suder said she could use the checks and credit cards when he was in Madison, according to one witness.
?(She said) he had given her permission when he was in Madison to write his checks out for certain things that she needed. Sign his name to them and then cash them,? Colby-Abbotsford police officer Donald Schmidt testified.
Brabazon will be arraigned on 15 felony forgery charges and four misdemeanor counts of fraudulent use of a credit card October 10th.
